Tomatoes are coming along. The last photo was taken on 21st April. What a difference in only six weeks.

The early spuds on plot 29 are really kicking off. Should be ready to start pulling at the end of this month.

Some shots of the other bed in the tunnel with tomatoes and peppers.

I’m fed up of weeding so the bed on the other side of the polytunnel has a covering of weed proof membrane. The pots are there for watering as they let the water go straight to the roots. As well as keeping the weeds at bay the membrane should also help to warm the soil up quicker (black is better for thermal absorption) and keep the moisture in the soil (through reduced evaporation).
The comfrey is coming along nicely so should have ample amounts of comfrey tea as a feed for our tomatoes and peppers. As mentioned yesterday we put in another 15 seedlings in this bed.
